We are serving alcoholic beverages in a variety of bars in takeaway format.
Please note: You MUST be seated while consuming food and drink on the course. There are plenty of seats to cater for everyone throughout the enclosure.
Yes. It is essential to book in advance for racing in 2021. NO TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO ‘WALK UP SALES’. The Government require full details for their Track and Trace system, and we will therefore need to collect full details from ALL racegoers.
Until racing returns to normal, we are encouraging racegoers to use card on a raceday. There will be NO CASH MACHINE on site.
Bookmakers and the betting facilities will accept both card and cash.
We will be operating the ‘Premier Enclosure’ although it will be smaller with limited numbers.
The entire ‘Picnic Enclosure’ will be open for racegoers including the new Pavilion Café. Movement around the Racecourse is restricted to the area in which you’ve purchased tickets.
While Social Distancing remains in place, the Main Stand is being used for ‘essential workers’ – Racecourse Staff, BHA Officials, Jockeys, Trainers and Stable Staff. In addition, the Park Suite Restaurant is being used solely for Owners so that they can maintain social distance while watching their horses run. The Premier Dining Room and the Grandstand & Paddock Self Service restaurant have been converted into changing rooms for the jockeys.
The Grandstand & Paddock Bar is running a takeaway drink service for Premier Outdoor ticket holders.
There is a dedicated Parade Ring viewing area on the Marquee Site for those in the Premier Enclosure. The Winners Enclosure will host only the winner of each race.
Premier ticket holders will be able to view the winner and the horses unsaddling in the Parade Ring.
There will be tote facilities open in the areas where you have booked tickets. These are either inside or have service points in the fresh air. Alternatively, there will be a (limited) number of bookmakers on site on a raceday.
While numbers are restricted, we will not have the usual level of raceday entertainment that has been a part of racing at Pontefract in the past. It will be back though as soon as we’re able to get the show back on the road as normal!
While the Premier Dining Room and Park Suite are not currently available to racegoers, a replacement Dining Facility will be available (when restrictions allow) in Boxes 5 to 9 in the Dalby Stand. Private Hospitality boxes will also be available for limited numbers of guests once restrictions have eased. If you’re considering booking a table in the restaurant, please note that there will be a limited menu and it is essential to book your restaurant package in advance.
All car parking is free of charge and is in the Park itself.
Parking is available in the Picnic Enclosure at a cost of £20 per car with a maximum of 4 adult occupants. This price includes a racecard and your entry into the Picnic Enclosure.
For those of you who’ve booked a Private Hospitality box, car parking labels for the Hospitality Car Park will be sent out with your admission badges.
Parking for coaches is, again, free of charge.
Complimentary Grandstand & Paddock passes are available for coach drivers who present their Driver’s Manifest/Worksheet at the turnstile. If you’re coming by coach, please ask for a ‘Coach Pass’ when you book.

On ‘normal’ racedays, a cash machine is provided at every raceday and is located outside the Raceday Office behind the Winner’s Enclosure. The cash machine is marked in position ‘3’ on the plan below.
Accompanied under 18s are admitted free of charge into EVERY enclosure at EVERY race meeting.
If you are booking in 2021, you MUST add each Under-18 as a product in your booking. You will not be charged – this is required to monitor capacity numbers during the pandemic.
A free creche will be in operation at our 3 Sunday race meetings in 2021 on 20th June, 25th July and 15th August.
In 2021, you will be able to pay by credit or debit card at all entrances.
Restaurant and bar accounts can also be settled by card.
Online booking is available in advance for all race meetings, and you are more than welcome to use a credit or debit card for this purpose. Please note that we do not accept American Express.
Dogs are allowed in the Picnic Enclosure at every race meeting. However, owners are requested to keep their dogs on a lead and under control at all times.
Guide Dogs are permitted throughout the Racecourse.
There is only a Dress Code in operation in the Premier Enclosure.
We want you to be comfortable and therefore do not insist on a jacket and tie. However, we do request that you have smart/casual attire and do not wear scruffy jeans, shorts, t-shirts, sportswear or trainers into the Premier Enclosure.
We now offer Gift Vouchers for the Premier and Grandstand & Paddock Enclosures.
These are valid for any race meeting and can be booked here.
Picnics are welcomed in every enclosure EXCEPT the Premier Enclosure.
A small amount of alcohol can also be brought in to the Racecourse as part of a picnic. This equates to a maximum of 4 cans per person or half a bottle of wine per person. However, please note that no glass bottles can be brought in to the enclosures. If you would rather bring spirits, please bring the pre-mixed cans.
There are several food outlets around the Racecourse, and we have additional items available at every race meeting that can be added to your raceday tickets. There are also a number of vending vans available throughout the Racecourse enclosures.

The Racecourse operates a No Smoking policy in all indoor areas. This includes the use of e-cigarettes.
